From the Principal's Desk

Dear ,

Thank you for attending the meeting on Monday. If you missed it, you can view the recording for updates about Wharton.

Please note that you can now select your preferred method of instruction for the fourth six-week cycle on HISD Parent Connect. You have until Monday, Jan. 18 to select whether you want in-person or virtual instruction for your student(s). Please make sure to fill out the form even if your method of instruction isn't changing. We would also like to ask you to inform your teacher of your selection.

As a reminder, there are no classes on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr Day. Enjoy the time off, continue to be safe, stay home, mask up, and wash hands.

We look forward to seeing our students back on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our Juntos fundraising campaign to continue Wharton's International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme. So far, we have 69 families who have donated a total of $31,010. We need another 40 families to donate to get us to our goal of $43,000.

Wharton's PTO funds this program in its entirety and the pandemic has prevented us from hosting our largest fundraisers. Will you donate to help us keep our IB program?

Wharton Middle School

As Ms. Day outlined during the parent meeting, our Middle School teachers are requesting that all students turn on their video camera during class instruction. If the student doesn't turn on their video camera, they will be counted absent for the day.* Please help us by communicating this to your student and reminding them if needed. Thank you!

*If your student experiences technical difficulties or is logged into class but can't use the video feature, please ask them to notify their teachers of their situation.
