SUBJECT: Wharton DLA Summer Newsletter 08.20.21

Friday, August 20, 2021
From the Principal's Desk

Dear Wharton Families,

I hope you’ve all had a safe and restful summer and are re-energized for the 2021-2022 school year. If you missed our virtual parent meeting on Tuesday you may view therecordingfor information discussed.

As you know, we’re returning to 100 percent in-person instruction, which means all students must report in-person on the first day of school – Monday, Aug. 23, 2021. If you haven't yet heard from your teacher, you will receive a call before Monday.

Please remember that masks are required in all district schools, buildings, and buses. This applies to all students, staff, and essential visitors. I encourage you to review HISD’s Ready, Set, Go! Back to School Plan, which includes detailed information about district safety protocols. You can find it online atHoustonISD.org/ReadySetGo.

Like this plan, all decisions we make this year will be focused on ensuring our students and staff have in-person learning and working experiences that are as safe as possible.

Thank you to all who came by to say hello to the entire Wharton team during Wednesday's car parade and to the families who supported our first spirit event at Marble Slab Creamery. Take a look at our picture album

We look forward to welcoming you all back to school on Monday!

Ms. Jennifer Day
