Thank you for attending our Parent meeting last Wednesday. If you missed it, you may watch the recording here.

I would like to remind you about Wharton's dress code. Please make sure that they wear appropriate clothing and footwear (no Crocs or open-toe shoes).

Don't forget to complete this short survey, where you can provide your input and feedback on the proposed HISD school calendars for 2022-2023. This survey will close today Friday, Jan. 28, 2022.

Blanket and Socks Drive
Help our Middle Schoolers and 3rd Graders collect new (or gently used) warm and cozy blankets and socks for men, women, teens, and children of all ages and sizes. Our goal is to collect 2022 blankets/pairs of socks. Please see the flyer for more details.

VIPS VOLUNTEERS WANTED!!
If you are able to assist during morning drop-off, lunch duty or dismissal please reach out to Ms. Elssy or myself. If you are not yet registerer with VIPS please sign up here. We are severely understaffed and don't have all the staff needed for all these tasks.  Thank you!

Harris County is currently at Red threat level and HISD is working to update the Ready, Set, Go plan once again.  

If you would like your student to be tested at our campus, please make sure you have filled out the one-time consent form.  Our campus currently tests weekly on Tuesdays.  Please fill out at earliest as possible before the next testing date.

🎂 Mother's Day Cake Sale: Thank you to everyone who has ordered a cake kit already. H-E-B informed us that the deadline to order has been extended until March 4, so you can still pre-order your cake kit. For $10, you'll receive a cake decorating kit that includes an 8-inch white cake and frosting in two colors.

Basketball Clinic (5th-8th)
Coach Cardinal will host a Basketball Clinic on Saturdays from 10 AM - 11:30 AM. Be on the lookout for more information.

Heights High School
If your current 8th student will be attending Heights please join the Parent Facebook group for Class of 2026!

Lamar High School Course Selection for Rising 9th Grade Zoned Students

Lamar will offer two virtual course selection events for Rising 9th-grade students who are zoned to Lamar.  These virtual events will be held through Microsoft Teams, and you will select your courses using a Google Form which will open on January 31.  You do not need to attend an information meeting to complete the course selection. 

Please register for one of these events (Monday, January 31, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm OR Tuesday, February 15, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm) using this link.

You will receive additional information and a Microsoft Teams link a few days before your selected meeting. We will offer additional course selection events in March and April for students who are approved for a transfer to Lamar and for zoned students who cannot attend one of the dates above.
