Dear Wharton Families,

December is here and Wharton is getting into the spirit with themed dress days. Scroll down to see the schedule for Wharton Days of Cheer. We will also have opportunities to support families in our community through gift-giving and food donations. See more information about how to participate below.

Phase 1 of HISD School Choice applications opens on December 14 and goes through February 2. All 5th and 8th-grade students must apply for their school of choice during Phase 1. 

Thank you to everyone who joined our 5th graders for The Grinch movie night yesterday. We hope you had a great time!

Wharton Magnet Tour
Join us for an in-person magnet tour. Current Wharton 5th graders who are interested in Wharton Middle School must re-apply through HISD's School Choice application process.

Join Principal Day, the Wharton leadership team, and PTO reps for the latest school updates. HISD's FACE (Family and Community Engagement) department will also present.

Help us to treat our Wharton educators and staff with a baked treat exchange for the holidays. Buy or make 1-3 dozen of your favorite holiday baked goods to share.

Garden Committee Workday
Join us for a garden workday. The whole family is welcome, and please bring wheelbarrows, shovels, hoes, and pitchforks if possible.

Express Theater's Puppet Scrooge
All Wharton elementary students will enjoy a presentation of Express Theater's Puppet Scrooge. Three actors and 12 life-size animal puppets tell the story of greedy teenager Eboni Scrooge on a wild ride with three ghosts who teach her the true meaning of Christmas: generosity and goodwill toward all critters.
