Dear Wharton Families,

I'm excited to share that Wharton's SPARK Park mural has been featured in the SPARK Art 2022 Calendar! SPARK began installing public art in 1991, and hundreds of schools have incorporated public art into their parks. In 2001, the organization began publishing and distributing an annual art calendar highlighting public art projects at its various schools. 

The March pages of the 2022 calendar feature the mural created by our art teacher, Ms. Che, and our students in 2019 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of our school. We're still waiting for the new equipment for the park to arrive, but we're very happy to see the mural recognized as a public art project. 

We look forward to seeing you virtually at our next Parent Meeting on Wednesday Nov. 17 at 6 PM.

School Choice Phase 1 Application Deadline
Reminder to 5th and 8th graders to submit their Magnet Application (HISD Office of School Choice)  before the deadline which is next week on Thurs., Nov. 18th, 2021.

Our Dual Language Middle School offers advanced academics, innovative learning experiences in a smaller setting that allows for customized student learning.  Our current 5th graders who are interested in joining our personalized and innovative Middle School will need to apply by November 18th.

Fall Retake Picture Day
Inter-State will be back on campus for retakes. Please note that retakes are only for students enrolled after the original picture day, students who were absent on picture day, any student returning a photo package for any reason and wanting to retake their picture. Sunshine Cart
We are inviting all parents to sign up to bring snacks or drinks for our wonderful Wharton teachers and staff. Please drop off your items on Thursday, Nov. 18. Thank you for your generosity!

Thank you to everyone who has donated to our Juntos campaign! To date, we're at 40% of our goal. We still need $29,975 to reach our goal. Will you help us get there?

Safety 
We are in the process of getting a new crossing guard at the corner of Stanford and West Gray. Please be careful!

Please don’t block Crocker St. in the mornings or afternoons.

Please don’t cross the street in front of cars entering the front gates. Walk down to the walker gate and cross there. It is much safer. We are evaluating where to put the next crosswalk.

Lost and Found
We have put the lost and found near the main entrance. Please tell your children to look for their things. We will donate anything not claimed to a local shelter after November 19.

Cowboys-n-Indians Spirit Night
