Nurse's Notes

Dear Wharton Family,

I am writing to share that Ms. Che’s husband, Matt, was in a severe bike accident Sunday night. He was struck by a moving vehicle while riding his bike. Ms. Che was with him when the accident happened and he is currently in the ICU in the Woodlands Memorial Hermann.

So far, Matt has had four surgeries and will probably need more before it is over. The good news is that he is stable in the ICU and we are very hopeful of recovery. He is not out of the woods yet. The doctors are estimating that he will be there for at least 2 weeks.

In times of need, we show up for each other at Wharton. This is one of those times. We have organized a meal train for donations, meals, and dog sitting.

Last and most importantly, please keep Matt, Che, Sway (their 16 yr. old daughter and former WDLA student), and family in your thoughts and prayers. They need all of our healing thoughts!

Wharton PTO News

Thank YOU Wharton community for your incredible support of our Noche de Encanto Spring Gala! We hope those of you who attended had a magical time. We were excited to gather again as a community and start working our way back to making our gala one of Wharton’s biggest fundraisers. Based on the amazing response to this year's event, we know to secure a larger venue for next year.

We are still finalizing our numbers but we estimate we raised close to $30,000 for our school. Stay tuned for more updates and a survey soon.

A huge thank you to the Gala Committee, volunteers, local businesses that donated items to our auction, in-kind and family sponsors, and to you!

Please share your pictures of the festivities by uploading them into our Spring Gala photo album. You can also see our Photo Booth pics here.
