Thank you for joining us at the parent meeting last night. If you missed the meeting, please take a look at the recording of the presentation. We covered a lot of detail about safety protocols and instruction for the second six weeks of school. 

Teachers will be holding parent meetings next week; please keep an eye out for an email from them.

Important Reminder for Parents

Please make sure to complete the Socioeconomic Form for 2020-2021 by Monday, Oct. 19. This form is available on the HISD Connect Parent Portal under Forms. While you're there, please check to make you have completed all other listed forms.

It is very important for our families to complete the socioeconomic form as it allows schools to receive Title 1 and State Compensatory Education funding that can be used toward:

• Hire staff personnel
• Provide tutoring service
• Order technology
• Provide professional development for teachers

Visit our Title 1 webpage to learn more and please go to HISD Connect to fill out and submit all required school forms by Monday, Oct. 19.

Multilingual Parent Leadership Conference

Join us for a week of fun, socially distanced Fall Festival activities!

🎃 Pumpkin Decorating Contest - Send a picture of your masterpiece by Oct. 25. Vote for your favorites from Oct. 26-30. One winner per grade level. Winners will receive an Amazon e-gift card.

👻 Do the Monster Mash - Send us a video of you or your family dancing to the Monster Mash in your best Halloween costume. Deadline: Oct. 25.

🍁 Fall Festival Drive-Thru Trunk-or-Treat - Decorate your trunk and display it for Wharton families to see during our Drive-Thru Trunk-or-Treat on Friday, Oct. 30. Or just come by and enjoy the trunks displayed from the safety of yoru car.

HISD will hold an Informational Session for GT parents on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Click here for more information and the link to join the meeting.

We will test all kindergarten and 5th-grade students who are not already identified as GT during the testing window of November 9 - 20. 

Kindergarten parents: please email Ms. Patricia Selin to let her know if your child was already tested and identified as GT. 

Parents in 1st - 4th & 6th - 8th grades may request testing by completing this GT Application and sending it to Ms. Selin. You only need to complete page 1 of the application. Please be sure to check the box for your choice of testing language – English or Spanish – on the form. The deadline to apply is Friday, November 6.

School Choice applications for the 2021-2022 school year opened on Sep. 19, 2020. Wharton is hosting Virtual Magnet Thursdays at 9 a.m. via Microsoft Teams on:
