Dear Wharton Families,
Día de Muertos is one of the most important, ancient, and intimate cultural expressions of Mexico. It is a tradition in which Mexican men and women meet their ancestors through rituals that involve memories, love, and food.
We celebrated at Wharton Dual Language Academy with an Altar created by Ms. Ché and our 1st-7th grade students in honor of Ms. Melina Doig, our former Assistant Principal.
Please like our Altar submission picture on the "Instituto de los Mexicanos en el Exterior" Facebook page by Sunday, November 7 and share with your family and friends so we get the most reactions/likes and have a chance to win #RetoDeAltares2021.
Our Kindergartners incorporated their Día De Muertos Altars in their IB transdisciplinary theme of "Who We Are". Take a look at some pictures of their work.
Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour this Saturday for Daylight Savings Time!
