Summer Newsletter #2 sent via ParentSquare on Friday, July 25

Dear Wharton Eagle Families,

We are counting down the days until the first day of school, and we are so excited to kick off a new year of learning, growth, and community!

At Wharton, learning is a shared journey rooted in inquiry, reflection, and excellence in action. This year, our campus-wide theme is: "Together we grow, together we soar." This theme reflects our belief that when we come together as a unified IB school community, including students, families, and staff, we create an environment where everyone can flourish and reach new heights.

You are receiving this message via ParentSquare, the district’s new communication platform. If you know a parent or caregiver who did not receive this email, please have them contact Ms. Medina at amedina1@houstonisd.org so we can ensure they are added to the system.

We’re also excited to invite you to our upcoming Meet the Teacher events:

  • PK–4th Grade: August 7th, 4:00 - 5:30
  • 5th–8th Grade: August 6th, 4:00 - 5:30

This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet your child’s teacher(s), drop off school supplies, and learn a little more about what to expect in the coming school year. If you’re unable to attend, don’t worry! You’re welcome to send supplies with your child on the first day of school and join us for our Annual Open House in September.

To help your child start the year strong, we’ve attached the school supply lists for all grade levels. Gathering supplies ahead of time ensures students are ready to learn from day one. If you or a family you know could use support with purchasing supplies, please reach out to our amazing At-Risk Coordinator, Ms. Banks, at barbara.banks@houstonisd.org

For our middle school families, please note that supplies should not be labeled with student names. To make things easier, we’ve created one streamlined list that all middle school teachers will share. Middle school students will organize and divide materials during Bridge Camp next week. Please see the attached flyer for more information.  If your child can’t attend Bridge Camp, no worries, we look forward to seeing them at Meet the Teacher!

We are thrilled to welcome you back soon. Let’s make this a year to remember as we grow together and soar to new heights!

With excitement,
Dr. Veronica Celedon
