A Note from the Principal | August 8, 2025
Dear Mighty Wharton Eagle Families,
Thank you for joining us for Meet the Teacher Night over the past two evenings! We loved reconnecting with our families and seeing our students step into the building with excitement and curiosity. We can’t wait to begin the school year together on Tuesday, August 12.
As we prepare for a fantastic year ahead, here are five key ways families can help students start strong—each one grounded in the Wharton Way and the Learner Profile:
-
Be Balanced – Help your child get plenty of rest by sticking to a consistent bedtime routine. A well-rested student is more focused, energized, and ready to learn.
-
Be Communicators – Take time each day to talk with your child about what they’re learning and how they’re feeling. These conversations build connection and reinforce the importance of reflection and growth.
-
Be Principled – Encourage your child to take responsibility for their actions and belongings, including organizing their materials and using their planner effectively (in the upper grades).
-
Be Open-Minded – Support your child in embracing new experiences and perspectives, whether it's trying something new at lunch, making a new friend, or exploring a new subject.
-
Be Inquirers – Nurture curiosity by asking questions together, reading at home, and encouraging your child to wonder about the world around them.
These small but meaningful habits help reinforce the learner profile and build the foundation for a positive, well-rounded academic year.
Additionally, we will be hosting our annual “Boohoo, Yoohoo Event” on Tuesday morning for PK and K families only. Please be on the lookout for more information about this event.
As a reminder, we are implementing new arrival and dismissal procedures this year to ensure student safety and efficiency. We will send a separate message with more details.
We are honored to partner with you this school year. Thank you again for making these first steps into the year so successful!
Looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday!
Dr. Veronica Celedon, Principal
